Nawazuddin grew up amidst a huge joint family of farmers with his nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters in a small town Budhana situate in India’s Uttar Pradesh state.

On 19 May 1974, he was born in a landlord family, his ancestor was the landlord in his town.

At the time of his childhood, there was no television and the only source of entertainment used to be the village carnivals, folk performances.

He always used to bath his buffalos in the river, kite flying and run behind the truck of sugarcane to pull out sugarcane at the time truck is passing with a friend

In his interview, he said that he was very naughty in his childhood and even knew each and every moment spent with his friends and his neighbours.

His father said he used to collect money the whole year to watch a movie at the time of Eid and Diwali in the theatre and theatre was away from his town.

He graduated in science from Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar along with work for a short period of time in as a chemist in a petrochemical company.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui shifted to Delhi to do something different in his life.

Nawazuddin spent 8 years of his life in Delhi and Noida.

He has worked as a watchman at a toy factory in Noida.

At that time, Nawaz was working in Noida, Noida was nothing but just barren land.

He got canned from the job by the owner reason a toy factory owner saw him sitting three times.

After this incident, Nawazuddin shifted to Delhi and started doing theatre with Sakshi group and work actors like Manoj Bajpai and Saurabh Shukla after some time he got admission in National School of Drama.

Nawazuddin Siddique graduated from National School of Drama in 1996 and After passing out from NSD he moved to Mumbai.

After shifting to Mumbai, his journey of Bollywood was started but it was very difficult for Nawazuddin to get a role in the movie.

Nawazuddin started his first Bollywood film debut in 1999, with a very small role in Amir Khan starer film Sarfarosh.

Nawazuddin also tried to get work in television but didn’t achieve much success.

After his debut in Bollywood film, he appeared in minor roles but Nawazuddin remained unnoticed by the audience, despite his strong performance.

He also got a small role in Munna Bhai MBBS, Sanjay Dutt starer film, in movie Nawazuddin beaten by the people.

He said after completing a role in the film and he went to his hometown people laughed at him and said what are you doing? You are beaten by the people.

The journey after a short film

In 2003 he did a short film Bypass where Nawazuddin appeared with actor, Irrfan khan.

From 2002 to 2005, he was mostly out of work and lived in a flat shared by four people and ran his livelihood by conducting occasional acting workshops.

In 2007 Nawazuddin appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and opened the door for other powerful roles.

Nawazuddin was seen in the first lead role in a feature film was in Prashant Bhargava’s Patang.

This film was premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and for his amazing performance in Patang, he has been praised by world-renowned film critic Roger Elbert and awarding the film with 4 stars.

In 2009, Nawazuddin was seen in a cameo role in the hit song “emotional attyachar” in the movie Dev D.

In 2010, his role of a journalist in Aamir Khan Production’s Peepli lives got Nawazuddin Siddiqui as an actor.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui played his first primary role as Sonu Duggal in Ashim Ahluwalia’s Miss Lovely and this premiered in Cannes Film Festival 2012 and Gangs of Wasseypur followed which furthered his fame.  

Nawazuddin also appeared in the lead role “most real performance so far” in gangs of Wasseypur part 2nd.

Gangs of Wasseypur was a career-defining film for Nawazuddin where he played the role of Faizal Khan and the dialogue is very famous “BAAP KA, DADA KA, BHAI KA, SABKA BADLA LEGA RE TERA FAIZAL”.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was involved with Sunita, at the same time when he was performing a play in Mumbai.

She was an NSD graduate.

Sunita and Nawazuddin relationship was very close to one another but her family forced her to break her relationship with Nawaz. This incident hurt Nawaz and he decided he would not be in a relationship in future.

After the break-up with Sunita, Nawazuddin Siddiqui fell for a Jewish girl named Suzanne. She was from New Jersey, New York.

Suzanne came to India and start living with him in Mumbai at the same time when the shooting of Miss Lovely began.

And after her visa expired she went back home and never came again in his life.
